Home Cheesemaking Workhop
Sunday, October 5, 1:00-3:00 PM
Join Rebecca Noble, artisan cheesemaker and educator, for a delicious journey into home cheesemaking at Passiflora Springs Winery. This workshop begins with 90 minutes of live instruction and hands-on experience in making Crème Fraîche and Fromage Blanc, two beloved French delicacies.
You’ll learn a little history of these fresh cheeses, discover how to use them in both savory and sweet dishes, and take home enough of Rebecca’s kitchen-made cheeses to create Tarte Flambée, a crispy, flavorful flatbread from the Alsace region of France.
What’s included:
Step-by-step instruction and hands-on practice
Cheese samples to taste along with Passiflora Springs Winery wines
Recipes for Crème Fraîche, Fromage Blanc, and Tarte Flambée
Handouts with tips for making fresh cheeses at home
Wine will also be available for purchase by the glass or bottle.
Whether you’re a seasoned cook or a curious beginner, this workshop will give you the confidence to bring artisanal cheese-making into your own kitchen. High-quality ingredients, careful techniques, and a touch of science combine to create delicious, fresh cheeses at a fraction of the store cost.
